Glazed and Confused: Round Two

Coffee and donuts — the peas and carrots of the food world. If you know us, you know a hot coffee and a fresh soft donut are our ultimate weakness. So on our latest Florida trip we did what any responsible food bloggers would do: put the two biggest Disney donut heavyweights head to head.

In one corner — the legendary Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea. In the other — the highly-hyped Everglaze Donuts at Disney Springs. One is a tried and true classic. The other is built for the ‘gram. Only one can win your snack budget.

Let’s break it down.

We first tried Joffrey’s six years ago and it’s been a love affair ever since. Everyone knows their coffee is a Disney staple — but their donuts? An entirely different level of existence.

  • The Size: Absolutely massive. Huge, soft, and exactly what your brain pictures when it hears the word “donut.”
  • The Texture: Quality and texture over gimmicks. Whether it’s a cinnamon ring or a twist, they nail that airy fresh bite every single time.
  • The Game Changer: We tried their Boston Cream for the first time this trip and it’s a revelation. The chocolate icing is great, but the filling is the star — a thick, rich vanilla custard with actual depth. No artificial goo in sight.
  • The Must-Try: If you haven’t had their apple fritter yet, consider this your official sign. 🍎🔥

Everglaze is all over social media so we finally grabbed their holiday box ($19 + tax) to see if the hype was real.

  • The Look: 10/10. Absolutely beautiful, festive, and colorful. If you want a donut for your Christmas photos this is your spot — no contest.
  • The Size: Larger than a grocery store donut but noticeably smaller and denser than a Joffrey’s ring.
  • The Taste: Here’s where it gets tricky. At $6.33+ per donut we were expecting a wow moment. What we got was “good, not great.” The dough was stiffer than we liked and the frosting was a very sweet vanilla without much complexity. Even the gorgeous holiday designs couldn’t quite make up for the simple flavor profile.

If you want flavor that actually hits — texture that melts in your mouth and a donut that earns every bite — Joffrey’s wins. It’s not even close. The Boston Cream alone is worth the trip.

But if you’re chasing holiday vibes and Instagram gold? Everglaze delivers the aesthetic. Just know you’re paying a premium for the pretty, not the flavor.

Our advice? Get your photos at Everglaze, then walk over and actually eat at Joffrey’s. Best of both worlds. 😄
