We’ve been to City Works in King of Prussia a few times now, and they have always delivered on great food and drinks. Happy to say this latest visit was no different.

It’s a sports bar and restaurant, but it’s big enough that you have options β€” sit close to the screens and get fully locked into whatever game is on, or hang back where it feels more like a proper restaurant with sport as the backdrop rather than the main event. It’s definitely on the higher end of the sports bar spectrum β€” never shabby, always very clean, and the staff are consistently great.

On our latest visit we tried some new things: the bacon tots, the breakfast burger and fries, and the Brisket and Biscuits. For drinks I had an orange salted cream cold brew.

Wow. Just wow. These tots were cooked absolutely perfectly β€” crispy on the outside, soft in the centre, fresh and hot. Perfect score on the tots alone. The bacon bits were fresh, crispy, and smoky; this wasn’t sad packet stuff, this tasted like actual bacon that had been chopped up. A scattering of sliced scallions and a hot honey glaze drizzled over the top tied it all together. These were amazing β€” a genuine showstopper. Love tots? Love bacon? Love hot honey? Put them all together and BLAM. Must try, full stop.

Fantastic. Ordered medium and the patty was cooked perfectly, topped with a nice sunny side up egg, all sitting in a soft, flavourful bun that somehow held together through the whole messy experience. And look β€” if a burger isn’t messy, it’s not a burger. It’s a dried up, sad sandwich.

The fries deserved a mention too β€” cooked well, nice and crispy, and dusted with a light sprinkle of black pepper. Simple, but that little twist was awesome.

Now, a note for the Aussies and expats out there, because some Americans might raise an eyebrow at a burger with a runny egg. A little history: when you get a burger in Australia from the local chippy, that thing is loaded β€” egg, beetroot, pineapple, all the normal fixings. This burger gave me a proper flashback to that, and that runny yolk soaked up by the fries? Oh boy. All round, a fantastic burger.

β€” RejectedSpark’s pick

If you think you know biscuits and gravy, City Works is here to respectfully, deliciously prove you wrong.

The Brisket and Biscuits is what happens when classic Southern brunch ambition gets turned all the way up. It starts with the foundation: dense, sturdy, deeply flavoured biscuits dotted with cheddar and green onion, toasted just enough to give them the backbone they need for what’s coming. This isn’t an afterthought base β€” it’s a deliberate architectural decision, and it’s the right one.

What I initially mistook for thick-cut bacon turned out to be slices of brisket β€” and honestly, that realisation made an already great dish even better. These aren’t delicate, fussed-over slices either. They’re fried, giving them a gorgeous char and a deep, unapologetic beefy intensity that feels entirely at home in this lineup. The kind of thing that makes you put your fork down for a second just to appreciate what you’re eating.

Then comes the gravy. Pimento cheese gravy. Thick, creamy, rich, with that unmistakable tang and warmth that could make a Southerner weep with joy. It ties every element together in a way that feels both completely natural and completely over-the-top β€” in the best possible sense.

And just when you think the dish is done showing off, there’s a generous crown of crispy fried red onion rings on top, adding a crunch and a slight sweetness that cuts through all that richness and keeps every bite interesting.

This is a plate that commits fully to its concept: all the big Southern flavours, all the textural contrast, absolutely zero compromise. Hearty doesn’t begin to cover it β€” this is a dish that earns the rest of your day off. Don’t skip it.

City Works KOP keeps delivering every time we walk through the door. The tots alone are worth the trip, the breakfast burger scratches that Aussie burger itch perfectly, and the Brisket and Biscuits is the kind of dish that reminds you why brunch exists. Add in great drinks, a great vibe, and staff that always bring it β€” this one’s a regular for a reason. Highly recommend.
